Confession: I read a lot of nutrition books. I try to focus on books that are backed by unbiased medical research and feel as little like a fad diet as possible. Especially regarding diet, it is insane how many conflicting recommendations the medical community reports.
I’m very thankful for Walter Willett, the Chairman of the Nutrition Dept at Harvard School of Public Health. I have found his advice to be both medically sound and balanced. The Harvard website The Nutrition Source is fantastic and a lot of the best info from Willett’s book Eat, Drink and Be Healthy is there for free.
I recognize that having the right nutrition information isn’t even half the battle in truly getting healthy. It takes a lot of work and many permanent changes. Most people are only willing to making short-term changes and then plan to drift back into the same bad habits that made them unhealthy in the first place.
I recommend checking out Willett’s writings and website and let your eating be informed by proper thinking.
